One person was injured in an Orange County car accident after his vehicle was struck by another car at a street intersection in Santa Ana, California. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the accident occurred the morning of September 11, 2009 at the intersection of Bear Street and Segerstrom Avenue. Santa Ana police say a silver Dodge minivan going north on Bear collided with a white Oldsmobile that was headed east on Segerstrom. The minivan rolled on its side, trapping the 59-year-old driver and his 17-year old passenger inside. The driver of the Oldsmobile fled the scene of the accident on foot. The 59-year-old man complained of pain and was taken to a local hospital. The teen was not injured.
I'm glad that no one was catastrophically injured or killed in this street intersection accident. I wish the injured driver of the Dodge the very best for a quick and complete recovery. Please keep him in your prayers.

According to the California Highway Patrol's 2007 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were 24 deaths and 1,468 injuries involving car accidents in Santa Ana, California. In Orange County as a whole, 178 deaths and 14,185 injuries were reported as a result of car accidents in 2007.
Based on this newspaper report, police officials say they are not sure yet who was at fault for this California car accident . However, the driver of the Oldsmobile who fled the scene, will most likely face criminal hit-and-run charges for leaving the scene of the accident. California law requires motorists to remain at the scene of the accident, whether or not the car accident was their fault.
